Albion Online deadline for the next test is a tight one, so focus is currently being put on the larger new features, such as farming and new weapons, before we move on to the rest of the over one hundred additions and improvements set out in our winter development roadmap over the next 6 months.
Our programmers are working hard on making sure the larger features planned for the next test work without a hitch! Farming constitutes one of the biggest and most difficult tasks, as a lot of different mechanics have to be considered, including raising animals and crops, harvesting, and using a whole new set of buildings!
They’re also working on creating an island players can travel to and own within the world. They can sail to their island and build housing or a farm, and cultivate pursuits which aren’t directly related to killing other living things…
And we’ve been doing a few things to our website, including adding pages in more languages so we can reach out to as many of our fans as possible, and building in options to upgrade and gift founder’s packs (which you’ve been asking for for ages!). More on the latter very soon!
Our game designers are finishing off the topic of farming before they move on to designing and balancing some all-new spells ready for the next test.
Their current main task is to polish off the system whereby food will now be used as a kind of currency, to fuel the efficiency of buildings and to pay for upkeep on player plots and guild territories. It’s going to take a lot of careful balancing!
A lot of new visual features means a lot of work for our art team. From designing all-new region classes to animating farmyard animals, to designing and rendering beautiful new weapons, the artists have a lot on their communal plate!
